Teaching Your Horse to Bow
Step-by-step instructions for training a horse to bow on one knee
This video teaches a fun and rewarding trick while helping enhance communication skills between horse and rider. The power of teaching 'tricks' is that riders often have fewer bad habits and a more open mind. This makes the process a great place to practice timing, release and reward patterns that you can then carry over to other areas of your horsemanship.
The video features a two-year-old learning for the first time, a horse that already learned but needs a refresher, and two finished horses. Using four horses allows viewers to clearly see all of the stages of training as well as the common problems found at each stage.
